The Calm for Kids one day Professional Development Workshop provides attending teachers with the tools and information to introduce relaxation into the classroom.

The Calm for Kids full day 'Introducing Relaxation in the Classroom' Professional Development workshop is suitable for educators of children aged 3 - 12 years of age.

The 'Introducing Relaxation in the Classroom Workshop' includes the following topics:

Breathing
Breathing techniques and games can be used to quieten and calm children down. Helping children focus on their breathing is a wonderful tool for stress release and relaxation.

Massage Games
Touch releases wonderful hormones through the body related to relaxation and stress release

Guided relaxations
Examples of different guided relaxations that can be used to help relax children before sleep time, or, quiet time

Stretching
Calming stretches that can be used to quieten the energy of children (in a fun way)

Visualisations
Examples of visualizations that can help with children's sleep, self esteem, relaxation and understanding of emotions

Affirmations
Examples of affirmations useful for children

Q: What happens in a regular Calm for Kids class?
Each class is made up of the following components: balance, concentration and co-ordination exercises, responsible interpersonal interaction, breathing exercises and games, relaxation and visualisations and affirmations.
 
Q: When and where do your classes operate?
Our classes operate in primary schools throughout Brisbane and the Gold Coast as an out of school hours activity. For more information about participating schools, please refer to the class timetable section of our website.
 
Q: How much do your clases cost?
A Calm for Kids 45 minute class is $13 per class. 30 minute classes are available as a before school or lunch time activity for $10 per class.
